The sixth-largest fair in the United States, the biggest on East Coast. The fair lasts for 17 days bringing over 7, agricultural exhibitors, educational displays, and thrilling attractions. There are daily horse shows, and many farm animals like goats, sheep, chicken, and pigs.
The Big E dates back to the Eastern States Exposition that was founded in to promote the local agriculture industry. The fair has several iconic attractions like Avenue of States that features life-size replicas of the six New England statehouses and the New England Grange House. Special exhibits and vendors on the Avenue showcase culture, heritage, food, and traditions of each New England state. Try a delicious lobster in Maine House or maple syrup in Vermont House. Everything is original and made locally!
Visitors can also check out Storrowton Village, recreating New England life from the 19th century. The Midway boasts The Giant Slide is 46 ft 14 m high and ft 40 m long. The fair hosts daily concerts at The Xfinity Arena with over 6, seats. Line ups include big-name bands and local talent. Free concerts take place at The Court of Honor Stage in the center of the fairgrounds. There are also daily Mardi Gras-style parades, equestrian contests, Animatronic Shows, and much more.
