I want to Thank my family and friends for believing in me and also myself for pushing my limits to the max with such confidence and strength.
Sandra B. I am a bit of a coward you see, this is the first time I am taking initiative and taking a step towards something that I truly want to do and to those that are always there encouraging me I truly thank you. Thank you for believing in me and being there for me as I pave a path for myself out of this cowardice. I love you and I will forever be grateful to you my tomatoes.
Because you guys have all my heart. Lauren B. I would first like to thank my mentor, Amy Bohlen, who has been by my side throughout this whole process. It was Amys encouragement that inspired me to participate and I would not be here without her. Next, I would like to thank my mom who has always believed in me and has pushed me to go beyond my comfort zone and try new things. Lastly, I thank my friends who have been the very best at cheering me on as I chase my dreams.
Their friendship means so much to me and without their support, I am not sure I would have had the courage to get up on that stage. Sydney B. To my three best friends who always cheer me on. Faith Myers you’re the first person who gets me entirely, you’re my person forever and I can’t wait to be your bridesmaid. Bailey Hubbard who keeps me sane everyday and our late night sonic trips. Reed Erickson who inspires me to be my true self everyday I wake up, I’ll always look up to you. Destiny C. My people have shown me that no matter where I go in life, they will be right there with me.
I want to thank some of the people who have been a big piece of my story. My parents for instilling in me that if an opportunity does not exist, then create one. It is because of them that I know nothing is out of reach. My sister for teaching me the value of time. It is because of her that I know to use it with intention.
My friends for reminding me that growth is uncomfortable, but it’s necessary. It is because of them that I live outside of my comfort zone. Finally, my coach Cheri for pushing me to always show up as the best version of myself. It is because of her that I am confident in what I bring to the table. I am forever grateful to you all! Coming from a large family of eight, Berkley is very family oriented. She began advocating for people with diverse needs because her little sister has a rare chromosome disorder, and she knows firsthand the capabilities, beauty, and potential people with any kind of disability have. Her journey of advocacy has shown her the need for inclusion within her community. This inspired her to begin a pilot program, coming in spring , to promote inclusive classroom environments throughout Minot Public Schools.
Berkley’s next venture is continuing her education at the University of North Dakota to pursue a marketing degree with a minor in finance while simultaneously preparing for the Miss Teen USA stage!
